About the Banff Pipeline Workshop

The Banff Pipeline Workshop is a biennial forum dedicated to advancing pipeline integrity through open, honest, and technically grounded dialogue. For more than three decades, the workshop has brought together pipeline operators, regulators, academics, and technology providers to share experience, examine emerging challenges, and develop practical solutions that strengthen pipeline safety, reliability, and performance.
What makes the Banff Pipeline Workshop Different?
The Banff Pipeline Workshop is intentionally discussion‑driven. The workshop emphasizes open dialogue, technical depth, and peer‑to‑peer engagement—not sales pitches or scripted presentations. Participants engage as equals, fostering candid conversations, deeper understanding, and professional relationships that continue well beyond the workshop.

What inspires me about BPW is the expertise our community brings, combined with a willingness to engage openly to help make our industry safer and stronger. It’s this spirit that makes BPW more than a technical forum—it’s a place where meaningful connections and progress take shape.

Our History
Founded in 1993 with just 65 participants, the Banff Pipeline Workshop has grown alongside the industry it serves. Over time, it has evolved into one of the most respected pipeline integrity forums worldwide, now welcoming more than 1,000 participants from across the global pipeline sector. Despite this growth, Banff Pipeline Workshop remains true to its roots: focused, technical discussion that advances understanding and drives progress.
