Name
WG 4 Session B - How Do We Diligently Introduce Technologies?
Date & Time
Tuesday, April 13, 2021, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Description

Purpose

One of the biggest challenges in the Facility Integrity is how to diligently validate and deploy emerging and available inspection technologies. It has been observed that the performance or applicability of inspection technologies is often reduced when applied to the assets in the field (in-situ) when compared to laboratory validation. As integrity has taken on a more high-profile role in the oil and gas industry, inspection companies have made huge investments in R&D over the past decade to bring new tool technologies to this industry. The question is whether or not the technology advancement is the only solution to increasing the reliability of inspection programs or do technology validation or multi-method inspection/verification programs play a more prominent role? In this session, it is expected that the representatives from different sectors of industry and inspection companies share their experiences with various inspection technologies used in the Facility Integrity and discuss how to holistically introduce and manage novel facility inspection programs.

Expected Outcome

Identify working group participants for an ongoing, collaborative discussion and identification of opportunities to address the common challenges in the Facility Integrity.
